Call for Volunteer Item Writers

In September of 2011, the MDCB Certification Exam moved from a paper-based to a computer-based format. The new format requires a large number of items to deliver multiple test forms to candidates. To expand the item bank, the MDCB is seeking support from the Radiation Oncology community, Certified Medical Dosimetrists, Physicists and Radiation Oncologists to join an Item Writing Committee and assist in developing test questions.  Both MDCB and CAMPEP credit is awarded for approved questions. Item writers will earn one (1) CEU for every two accepted items.

Item writers may be required to participate in an item writing webinar and to submit questions in accordance with established deadlines. Writers will be guided by the MDCB Ethical Standards and Item Writer Conflict of Interest, Confidentiality and Copyright Agreement.

On occasion, the MDCB may conduct an item writing workshop in conjunction with the AAMD Annual Meeting. Workshop participants learn how to develop well-constructed exam questions. Those interested in participating in the workshop will be required to submit five (5) questions pertaining to the exam matrix in advance of the conference. Credit will be granted for attendance and for submission of accepted questions.

Interested individuals should complete the application and submit either by scanned copy to info@mdcb.org or by fax to 856-439-0525. The MDCB looks forward to your participation.
