Scholarship Winners
Fatma Bekirogullari recently graduated from the Medical Dosimetry program at Thomas Jefferson University and is completing her clinical training at Capital Health. Before transitioning into oncology, she built a diverse professional background in education, retail management, and banking, where she developed strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. As a single mother, Fatma pursued medical dosimetry to merge her passion for science and technology with a career dedicated to patient care while building a future for her family.
Throughout her clinical rotations, Fatma gained hands-on experience in treatment planning, anatomy, dose calculations, and advanced radiation therapy techniques. She is incredibly grateful to receive the MDCB exam voucher scholarship, which directly supports her journey toward certification as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist, and she looks forward to contributing to the field of radiation oncology.
John is a medical dosimetry student at The University of Texas MD Anderson School of Health Professions. He is dedicated to advancing his clinical expertise and creating thoughtful, precise treatment plans that improve outcomes and quality of life for patients. He is deeply grateful to receive the MDCB exam voucher, which supports his preparation for board certification and the next step in his professional journey.
Gabrielle Pickle, R.T.(T), is a recent graduate of Bellevue College’s Radiation and Imaging Sciences Medical Dosimetry Program and an ARRT-certified Radiation Therapist. She currently works as a PRN Radiation Therapist and has gained experience in both patient care and treatment planning throughout her studies.
Gabrielle looks forward to developing treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy. She plans to pursue MDCB certification and begin her career as a medical dosimetrist. She is grateful to the AAMD Foundation for supporting her professional development through the MDCB Scholarship Voucher.
Sarah Rasmussen graduated from the medical dosimetry program at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill in June 2026. She previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences with a concentration in radiation therapy from Augusta University.
Sarah brings over four years of experience as a radiation therapist, including two years as a travel therapist working in multiple cancer centers across North Carolina. This experience sparked her interest in medical dosimetry and the treatment planning process. Her interest in dosimetry is further influenced by personal experience, as family members have undergone radiation therapy, giving her a deeper appreciation for the precision and responsibility involved in cancer care.
During her training at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, Sarah developed treatment plans for a wide range of disease sites while collaborating closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and certified medical dosimetrists. She is a recipient of the UNC Robert Adams Patient Safety and High Reliability Award.
Sarah has recently relocated to Dunedin, Florida, where she has begun her career as a medical dosimetrist with Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute in Hudson, Florida.
Dyanira Salinas graduated from the Medical Dosimetry program at Grand Valley State University in August 2026. With over 14 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist, she brings extensive clinical knowledge and a strong foundation in patient care to the field of dosimetry. She is passionate about advancing radiation oncology through treatment planning, continuous education, and professional collaboration. Outside of work and school, she enjoys reading, running, and spending time with her family.
Dyanira is honored to receive the MDCB exam voucher, which will support her journey toward certification and continued growth in the field of medical dosimetry. She is grateful to the MDCB for their support.
